Part – time Emergency Medical Technician

Nature of Position

• Employee will be responsible for staffing the ambulance and providing medical care in an emergency setting.
• Employee must be able to work in adverse weather conditions and be able to make sound medical decision while working under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Provide Basic Life Support and transport of the sick and injured
• Must provide all patient care within scope of practice set forth by Delaware State BLS Protocols & Maryland Protocols
• Must have or be willing to obtain a Maryland EMT.
• Complete DEMRS reports or incident reports prior to the end of shift
• Routine checks of ambulance equipment and vehicles
• Perform station housing keeping duties
• Must be able to work well with the public, staff and our supporting agencies
• Other responsibilities may be added on a case by case basis

Mandatory Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED equivalent
• Must be 21 years of age to be covered by our Vehicle Liability Insurance
• Valid Driver’s License with NO DUI and no more than 4 points at time of application
• Must provide a certified copy of driving record going back at least 6 months after job offer
• Must be willing to provide a current background check after job offer
• Must complete pre-employment drug screen
• Valid EMT card from National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians
• Valid Delaware EMT certification card from the Delaware State Fire School
• Valid Emergency Vehicle Operators License
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• 1 year of active 911 experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Albuterol certified
• NARCAN certified
• CPAP certified
• Epi-Pen
