On December 28, 2013 while returning from an assist in Goldsboro, MVFC was alerted for an outside fire by Kent Center, Engine 56-1 went responding with a crew of 8, officer 56-18, Brush 56-0 went responding with officer 56-21 56-4 and Tanker 56 also went responding. Command 56 with officer 56-17 went responding. Engine 56-1 went on location and found an area of grass 20x 20 on fire which most had been extingushed by the home owner with a water hose prior to arrival. Brush 56-0 circled the perimeter and exstigushed the remaining hot spots.
