Structure Fire - 231 East Street, Marydel

On Monday at 12:49pm Kent center alerted the Marydel Fire Co., The Hartly Fire Co., and Caroline County Station 700 for a reported working structure fire. Kent Center advised operations were on K-tac-4. Kent Center also advised fire was possibly caused by a wood stove with smoke and visible fire in the structure. Caroline County Officer 715 (Bartz) arrived to a two story single family dwelling with smoke showing, establishing East Street Command. Engine 56-1 went responding / on location with officer 56-22 (Lepore). Command had engine 1's crew deploy a 1-3/4 handline to the attic. command had engine 51-3's crew ladder the Charlie side of the structure and start ventilation. Command had Ladder 51 come down East street and ladder the alpha side of the structure. Ladder 51's crew placed chemical bags in the chimmney to extinguish the fire in the chimmney. Crews completed salvage and overhaul operations. Fm 13 investigated the fire, station 45 transferred one engine to station 51, station 41 transferred one engine to station 56, Caroline County station 600 transferred one engine to Caroline county station 700. Command placed situation under control, units cleared.
