The Marydel Fire Company regretfully announces the Passing of Chief Emeritus Al Lane Jr. Chief Emeritus Lane was an active member for 55 years. Al was currently our Chief Emeritus and Vice President. He has held the offices of Chief and President and every other office within the Marydel Fire Company. He was past president of the Kent County Fire Chief's and Delaware State Fire Chief's. Chief Emeritus Lane was one of the first 911 dispatchers with Kent Center and retired in 1991. He was fireman of the year, is entered in the Hall of fame in both Delaware and Maryland. He was instrumental in implementing the power of the Chiefs Law Bill in Delware. He attended every firemans convention in Delaware and Maryland for 55 years. He will be greatly missed, we loved him Dearly. Viewing will be held Wednesday at 10:00am with services following at Torbert Funeral Home on Route 10 in Camden, DE.
