Marydel mourns the lost of past EMS Lieutenant Alan Gray Sherman

Alan Gray Sherman-age 77 of Maynardville, TN born December 18, 1944 passed away Saturday morning, November 26, 2022 at his home. He was a member of St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, Knoxville. He was a retired Veteran of the United States Navy at the rank of Master Chief with 24 years of service. He held a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Education from Southern Illinois University Carbondale; Masters of Arts degree in Public Administration from Webster University; National Fire Academy, Certificate in Emergency Medical Service Management; The University of Delaware, certificate in Public Administration. Alan also was an Adjunct Paramedic Program Instructor for Chesapeake College and Cecil College (Sep 2008) and was the Delaware State EMS office AED coordinator 2009 to 2011; Training Administrator 2011 to 2014.

Preceded in death by: son, Nicholas Sherman; parents, Elbridge and Irma Sherman; brother, Earl Sherman.

Survivors: wife of six years, Josefina Sherman; sons, Scott Eskwitt and wife, Christine; Nathaniel J. Sherman and wife, Stephanie; daughters, Julie Goldthwaite and husband, Robert; Nikia Sherman; step-children, Kristopher Smith and wife, Kriston; Peggy Quezada; five grandchildren, Graylyn, Millee, Nora, Gio and Samantha. Sister-in-law, Nancy Sherman. 

The family will receive friends 11 a.m. till 1 p.m. Wednesday, November 30, 2022 with a Mass of Christian Burial following at 1 p.m. Wednesday, St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, 7200 Brickey Lane, Knoxville, Tennessee 37918, Celebrants: Monsignor Patrick Garrity, Father Neil Pezzulo, Deacon Larry Rossini, Deacon Mike Duncan, Deacon Bob Smearing. A celebration of life reception will follow the service at the church. Burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia at a later date. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
