MVC Reported Serious With Entrapment

On Saturday afternoon at approximately 5:10pm, Chief Madden was at the station in his truck when a passerby stopped by and informed him of a possible serious MVC on Henderson Road in the area of Temple Road. Chief Madden went to investigate and found a two vehicle MVC appearing "head on and serious" with confirmed entrapment, establishing Henderson road command. He asked Caroline to alert station 56 with additional ALS and 2 additonal BLS units for a serious MVC with entrapment. Caroline alerted station 56, station 700 for squad 702, PM-17,PM-16, Kent Co., DE station 51 for 2 ambulances. Rescue Engine 56-3 went responding with a crew of six, officer 56-18 (Mills), B-56 went responding, engine 56-1 went responding with a full crew. Rescue engine 56-3 arrived and started extrication on vehicle #1. Engine 1 arrived and command had them start cutting the tree so extrrication could begin on vehicle #2. Squad 702 arrived with officer 715 (Bartz) and assisted engine 1's crew with extrication on vehicle #2. Ambulance B-56 transported 1 with PM-17, Ambulance B-51 transported 1 with PM-16, and PM-17 BLS trnsported 1 meeting Kent Co., De. paramedics enroute to the hospital. Cmmand placed rescue box 5-2 under control returning units and turning scene over to MSP.
