Severe Weather Threat - Kent County
Monday, September 17, 2012

Strong early autumn storm system will affect the region Tuesday afternoon September 18th into early morning Wednesday September 19th. Storm system will bring multiple threats. Severe weather threat from strong thunderstorms; primary threat is strong damaging winds with wind gusts over 60 mph. Locally heavy rainfall will result in a threat from flash flooding. River flooding is NOT expected to be a significant problem Minor coastal flooding is possible at time of high tide. Most likely location is Chesapeake Bay, may also be problems on Delaware Bay. Strong winds will overspread the region with general winds gusts to 40 mph inland and 50 mph near the ocean and bay coastlines.
