At 2:14am Monday morning Kent Center alerted the Hartly Fire Company and the Marydel Fire Company for a reported structure fire. Kent Center advised operations would be on K-tac-4. Command 51 went responding with Chief Morris. Engine 51-3 went responding with Lt. Tigner, engine 56-1 with Deputy Chief Simonsen, Tanker 56 with Lt. Madden, Tanker 51 with Deputy Chief Ballek. Command 51 arrived to a single story, single family dwelling with fire showing side "B" establishing Tuxward Road Command. Engine 51-3 arrived, command had them drop a 5 inch supply line proceed up the lane towards the command car and deploy a 1-3/4 hand line thru the front door. Engine 56-1 arrived, command had engine 1 come up the lane and had crews deployed the second handline on the exterior of side "B". Chief Morris then transferred command to Deputy Chief Simonsen. Command requested an additional engine and tanker out of Caroline County 700 and engine transfers to both stations (engine 41-3 at station 56, engine 45-3 at station 51) crews knocked down the fire, and proceeded with salvage and overhaul operations while FM-28 investigated. After an exstensive overhaul units cleared the scene.
