On january 23, 2010 at 00:44 hours the Marydel Fire Co. was dispatched by Caroline County for a reported house fire. Station 700 (Goldsboro) and Kent County Delaware Station 51 (Hartly) were also dispatched. Engine 56-1 went responding with a crew of five with officer 56-16 (Simonsen). Engine one arrived in the area to a vacant 1 story single family dwelling with nothing apparent. Officer 56-16 established command, reducing the assignment to units on scene, engine 1 and engine 703. Crews from both units investigated and found nothing, box was placed under control. As units were clearing the scene, the Marydel Fire Company was alerted by Kent center to assist Kent County Delaware Station 51 with a reported house fire at 2022 Hartly Road. Crews went responding to the second incident. Engine 51-3 went on location with nothing apparent, reducing assignment to 51 units. All 56 units cleared and returned to quarters.
