On Wednesday October 21, 2009 @ 22:28 hours the Marydel Fire Company along with Caroline County Paramedic 791 were alerted for a MVC ( car in a ditch) On Gooden Rd and Henderson Rd. 56-17 (Melvin) and 56-15 (Madden) went responding POV's. engine one went responding with a crew of seven with 56-16 (Simonsen). 56-17 arrived on scene and established Henderson Road Command. 56-15 arrived shortly after. Command advised one subject was trapped in the vehicle. Engine one's crew quickley started extrication, subject was pinned under the dash. Upon arrival of the rescue, the other Holmatro tools were utilized as well as the ram's. Due to our "O" cutters being out of service from Monday's Drill, command requested a rescue out of Station 700 (Goldsboro). Rescue 700 arrived to assist in the extrication, Patient was removed from vehicle and transported to KGH by B-56. Command placed situation under control all units cleared. Units on scene; 56-15, 56-17, Engine 56-1, Rescue 56, Ambulance B-56, utility 56-8, Caroline County PM 791, Rescue 700.
