On July 08, 2009 the Marydel Fire Company was alerted by Caroline County Fire for a MVC reported with possible entrapment. As members arrived to the fire station they found it very dark in town and the generator at the fire house was running. Engine one went responding with a crew of six with 56-18 (Olechney) and 56-16 (Simonsen). Engine one arrived to a single vehicle mvc car vs pole with the pole snapped in half with multiple wires down. 56-18 established Barclay Road command. Chief Madden and Rescue 56 arrived shortly after engine one. Barclay Road command requested Delmarva Power, Caroline County and Queen Annes county Sherriff's office along with brush 56 to assist with traffic control until Maryland State Highway arrived. One patient was treated by engine one's crew till paramedic 791 arrived. Patient was packaged and transported to Bayhealth in Dover. After state Highway arrived all units cleared.
